On April 27th, 2011 a large, mile-wide, and violent tornado tore through Tuscaloosa, AL including The University of Alabama. The tornado stayed on the ground for 210 miles straight devasting several southern cities.
Damages could total approximately $2 billion in the Alabama relief effort, according to the state insurance commissioner. He said early estimates put the south at $2 billion to $5 billion. In Tuscaloosa, the city death toll reached 43 as of June 1, 2011 with people still remaining missing.
The entire nation is coming together to support Tuscaloosa. There are several organizations raising funds to help Tuscaloosa with the city’s severe damage caused by the tornado. One outstanding organization is HOPE FOR TTOWN which benefits Project Blessings. The Image Collection recently created cups for the organization for its Crawfish Boil Event held in Atlanta, GA with all proceeds going to help with the repairs and to provide relief in Tuscaloosa!
